POSITION // Quarterback. The second half of the game will feature the battle for the No. 3 job between Drew Olson and Troy Smith. Olson, who outplayed Troy Smith in the first game, will get the third quarter this time and Troy Smith will play in the fourth.
VETERAN // Outside linebacker Jarret Johnson. The replacement for Adalius Thomas made a couple of mistakes in the preseason opener, but he's much better than he showed. Johnson brings more toughness than Thomas did.
ROOKIE // Right guard Ben Grubbs. The Ravens' first-round pick will make his first start, filling in for injured Chris Chester (foot). This is his chance to stake a claim to the starting job.
ON THE BUBBLE // Running back Cory Ross. The diminutive second-year player impressed the coaching staff in the preseason opener when he replaced injured P.J. Daniels (hamstring). With Musa Smith on a one-year contract and Daniels getting injured, Ross could be carving a niche for himself.
INJURY REPORT // Nine players are out: offensive tackles Jonathan Ogden (toe) and Steve Edwards (knee), nose tackle Kelly Gregg (thigh and knee), tight end Daniel Wilcox (ankle), guard Chris Chester (foot), outside linebackers Antwan Barnes (ankle) and Dan Cody (knee), inside linebacker Mike Smith (shoulder) and running back P.J. Daniels (hamstring). Receiver Derrick Mason (shoulder) is a game-time decision.
