Troy Smith, the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback from Ohio State who is getting ready for next month's NFL draft, made an appearance on ESPN2's Cold Pizza this morning. When host Jay Crawford told him experts pegged him as anywhere from a second-round pick to a fifth-round pick, Troy Smith took exception. Smith described the "experts" by saying,
"At home on their own Microsoft Word printout they put 'expert' next to their name."
Crawford similarly scoffed at these so-called experts, saying, "A computer, the internet, you know, you've got a web site, suddenly you're an expert." Right. So I guess Crawford thinks all those web sites that don't list Troy Smith as a first-round prospect are lacking in credibility. You know, like ESPN.com.
